3. Definitions :-
In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires.- (a) "Government"' means the Central Government: (b) "member of the service" means any officer holding a post borne on the cadre of the service and includes a non-cadre Head of Mission or post : (c) "Service" means the Indian Foreign Service Branch 'A' and Branch 'B'
